Curriculum Overview
Science provides a way for students to become curious while thinking and investigating, it also lends itself to a growing body of knowledge about the natural world. Students in 6th grade, participate in activities and instruction aligned to content centered around the Earth and follows the Georgia Performance Standards of Excellence. Students in 8th grade participate in activities and instruction aligned to content centered around Physical Science and also follows the Georgia Performance Standards of Excellence.
All lessons for students incorporate 3 Dimensional Science lessons and activities based on the Next Generation Science Standards. 3 Dimensional Science lessons and activities provide opportunities for students to engage in
Core Content: Their Unit of Study and what they should know(Earth and Physical Science Standards)
Engineering Practices:What scientist do(analyze, interpret, measure, graph, calculate, model and etc.)
Cross cutting Concepts: Connections that are relate-able to all areas of science(patterns, systems, and models, Energy and Matter, Scale and Proportion, cause and effect, structure and function)
