Good Morning 6th Grade Scholars,
Lesson Overview
Today we will conclude what we have learned about the Layers/Structure of the earth. Now that you have learned that all of the Layers of the earth are different you compare it to another object that has layers that would be similar. You will explain why you chose that object to represent

Lesson Target: I can compare and contrast the layers of the earth to different objects or create a story.
Lesson Instructions
1. Watch the two Youtube videos to review how the Earth is divided into layers. Use the video to jot down characteristics for each layer (be sure to discuss the temperature, compositon-what it is made of, thickness, density, and etc) that makes the layer different from any other layer
You can use Mr. Lee's video to get an example of how to write to compare and contrast
2. Choose 1 of the following 3 activities to complete. Students select only 1. Use the video and information learned this week to help you. Decide which layer of the earth would be most similar to the objects described below and why
Activity Choices
Compare and Contrast a peach to Earth’s layers using (changes in temperature, composition, thickness of layers, density, and changes in pressure)
Or
Compare and Contrast your house to Earth’s layers using (changes in temperature, composition, thickness of layers, density, and changes in pressure)
Or
Create a fun/interesting childrens story explaining what a person will experience as they travel from the crust to inner core. Include (changes in temperature, composition, thickness of layers, density, and changes in pressure).
3. Click on the Green Forms button to submit your Constructive Writing
4. The organge button are the answers from the Computer Activity from Tuesday and Wednesday
