Good Morning 6th Grade Scholars,
I really miss all of you and cant believe that I will not be able to physically see any of you. I hope you all enjoyed the Spring Break you H last week. I hope the break gave you an opportunity to rest and really enjoy your family. My family and I made the most of it since we could not actually go out of town as planned. We basically played family games(We even played family Kahoot remotely you all should try it they have lots of general trivia) and I taught my daughters how to cook. This weekend I plan to teach them how to garden in their Easter Basket by growing a vegetable of their choice.
Today's Lesson Topic: Plate Tectonics
Lesson Target: I can explain how plate movement is connected(related) to earthquakes and volcanoes with data from interactive map and or video, Earthquakes and Volcanoes.
Lesson Overview: Have you ever wondered why certain areas have more earthquakes than others (Example California verses Georgia) or Have you ever wondered why volcanoes dont seem to be found every where. Here is a cool tidbit most of earthquakes, mountains and volcanoes are located in locations that are centered around the Pacific Ocean. This week you will learn what is happening in this area to cause the formation of these major geological events.
Lesson Vocabulary-
Convergent Boundary
Divergent Boundary
Transform Boundary
Ring of Fire
Plate Tectonics
Lesson Instructions
1. Click on the Green button to watch the Mosa Mack Video for plate tectonics
2. Complete the Plate Tectonics Web quest and questions related to plate tectonics and plate boundaries by downloading the Microsoft Form using the orange button
3. Submit what you learned after you investigation by answering the two questions via Microsoft Form which can be found via the green button
